Subcommittee – Animal Welfare

Rebecca Sommerville is a Certificated Clinical Animal Behaviourist and animal welfare scientist. She completed an MSc in Applied Animal Behaviour and Animal Welfare at the University of Edinburgh and a BSc in Animal Behaviour at the University of Sheffield. Rebecca has worked as a Post Adoption Support behaviourist for Dogs Trust, a Global Animal Welfare advisor for Brooke – Action for Working Horses and Donkeys and a Food Business researcher for Compassion in World Farming. These roles involved working on human behaviour change with stakeholders from international food companies through to individual animal owners. Rebecca is a charity trustee of The Humane League UK and was formerly Development Officer for the International Society for Applied Ethology, promoting animal behaviour and welfare professionals in developing regions. She supports dog owners and veterinarians through her business Behaviour by Becca, specializing in the rehabilitation of ex-racing greyhounds and rescue dogs.
