FAB Clinicians believe that clinical animal behaviourists should be highly qualified, highly experienced and work to the highest ethical standards, following up-to-date scientific techniques. This means all of our Certificated Members are independently accredited in each of the species they primarily work with, but they may be preparing for accreditation in other species.  Clinical cases are only ever taken on veterinary referral.  In the UK we conform to the regulatory standards set by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS).

Currently in the UK the only route to external, independent accreditation is through the Certificated Clinical Animal Behaviour (CCAB) scheme.  We also welcome Veterinary Behaviourists from around the world as FAB Clinicians Certificated Members if they are recognised as specialists in their field by at least one of the following independent bodies:
