Welcome to the Fellowship Of Animal Behaviour Clinicians new member application page

The annual membership fee for Certificated Members of FAB Clinicians is £140.00 (£70.00 with a studying discount)

The fee is calculated on a pro-rata basis per month. If you apply today the fee for the rest of the FAB Clincians year (1st April to 31st March) will be £81.67 (£40.83 with a studying discount)

Information For Applicants

Our Certificated Members are clinical animal behaviourists independently accredited as being highly qualified and experienced in each species with which they wish to practise. On working with cases delegated to them by veterinary surgeons, they demonstrate they work to the highest ethical standards, keep abreast of the latest scientific findings, use evidence-based techniques, as well as maintaining a sufficient caseload to keep their clinical skills up-to-date.

Although FAB Clinicians is based in the UK, we welcome veterinary and non-veterinary colleagues from around the world. FAB Clinicians will represent you to the wider industry and welcome your input on further developing the field. Currently, our Certificated Members include the following:

  • CCABs accredited by the Association for the Study of Animal Behaviour;
  • Behavioural Medicine Diplomates of the European College of Animal Welfare and Behavioural Medicine;
  • Diplomates of the American College of Veterinary Behaviourists;
  • Fellows of the ANZCVS Veterinary Behaviour Chapter.
Please note that both practising and non-practising CCABs on the CCAB Register are welcome to join us. Non-practising CCABs can be listed on the Meet Our Members web page and the FAB Clinicians members list in the 'Members Area' of the web site, but will not appear on the Find a Behaviourist web page.

We would request suitably qualified applicants from outside the UK to note that, although you could appear on FAB Clinicians Find a Behaviourist list, we would be unable to add your name to the ABTC CAB or VB registers, unless you apply for CCAB accreditation. There is an agreement for instance between ECAWBM and ASAB Acc, so do contact the ASAB Acc secretary. The ABTC listings are intended for UK-based practitioners only.

If you are currently enrolled in or have graduated from a relevant academic course in the last two years, then you may be eligible for a 50% off studying discount on your membership fees.
