Committee Member - Academic Liaison
Julie Daniels
PhD, DipCABT

Julie has always been passionate about animals but was unable to have pets growing up owing to family allergies. Instead she made friends with all the local cats and dogs (who used to roam free back then). As soon as Julie and her husband got their own home, they rehomed two wonderful cats. Soon after Lemmy, a very handsome Rottweiler mix came along, who loved people but not other dogs. He did immediately accept Poppy, a very anxious ex-racing greyhound into the family. Between, them their behaviours presented very different challenges, so Julie started her animal behaviour and training journey with Sarah Whitehead’s Think Dog course. She has never looked back!

Today, Julie is a companion animal behaviourist, dog trainer and academic scientist in the field of human Regenerative Medicine, with collaborations in canine eye disease. Julie is particularly interested in animal emotions and how they may be changed to prevent problematic behaviours.  Her knowledge and practical experience come from her COAPE Diploma in Companion Animal Behaviour and Training, MSc in Clinical Animal Behaviour achieved awarded by the University of Edinburgh and CPD. She is a full member of The Association of Pet Dog Trainers (UK), The COAPE Association of Applied Pet Behaviourists and Trainers and the International Companion Animal Network.  As a candidate member (ASAB pre-certificated) of the Fellowship of Animal Behaviour Clinicians, she is continuing her journey by working towards becoming a Certified Clinical Animal Behaviourist. Julie offers training and behaviour modification for dogs and cats in Bedfordshire, UK. She is also very much looking forward to helping others on their animal behaviour and training journey.
